Action Aid is calling for a world of reform

Action Aid, a team working out of the UK and 50 other countries, is a partnership of different professionals who are pushing for a better world. In 2005, Action Aid added a new piece to their reform efforts and decided to include an international strategy. The team wants to end poverty and injustice that remains all over the world. To fulfill their mission, Action Aid offers help to the poor and isolated people all over the world and helps them to secure their rights as human beings with the dignity that we are all entitled to. Action Aid also wants gender equality, especially for women, which they feel is the key to reducing poverty. Reducing the number of HIV and AIDS sufferers is also a big goal for the team.

Action Aid mainly focuses on HIV & AIDS, food and hunger, women's rights, the right to education, the right to human security, and the right to just governance. The team goes to countries all over the world and builds relationships with people who are need of help from others. In hoping to reach their goals, Action Aid pushes for attention and action from local, national, and international government agencies. The team knows that one country making changes will not fix world poverty and they therefore push to challenge and change government's policies and how they impact around the globe.

To achieve their goals, Action Aid wants many different changes and reforms in the world. The team hopes for an international trading system that will effectively reduce and eventually rid the world of poverty. Also to end poverty, the team is trying to get countries to realise that the poorer countries need 100% debt cancellation. The team also campaigns for new UK as well as international laws that make multinational companies responsible for their impact on local communities as well as the environment. Action Aid pushes for a better world. Through all of the injustices and inequalities around the globe, the team hopes to slowly reduce these levels of inequality and injustice.
