Hotter Shoes for Hotter Weather

Posted in Shopping on Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 at 09:41 by Sarah Evans.

I realized something quite distressing today. My favourite sandals are beginning to look worse for wear. I hate to think that I will have to replace them soon, particularly since the hottest part of the summer is on its way. (Guys, you may need a translator for the next part.) I have an interesting relationship with these shoes. They are lime green and quirky. They make me feel fun and silly and just odd enough to let people know that I, too, am quirky. Yes, they are a statement. While I bought them just to wear to the pool or pub they have turned out to be favourites that I wish I could keep forever. Or at least until I find another pair.

Purple Parking and More!

Some people won’t leave home without their lucky socks. Others won’t step put their front doors on Friday the 13th. We all have our quirks. I am realizing one of mine (out of the hundreds I have) is that I hate to leave my car. I don’t know what it is but I have a strange attachment to her. God knows I’ve been with my car longer than any relationship save for my dentist. I get anxious when I have to leave my car somewhere. Even if I am on some great holiday, there will be a time when I wonder if my car is okay.

Debenhams Single Travel Insurance

I have a confession to make. Not too long ago I was one of those people that pooh-poohed travel insurance. Of course I had great medical coverage at the time which prompted by opinion. After reviewing what is going on in the travel insurance world these days, I think you’d be crazy not to have it.

Warner Leisure Hotels for a Great Experience

I just got back from a trip a couple of weeks ago and already I am planning on another. I wasn’t sure I was going to go to this one but it is an important family function. Besides, I guilted my parents into going so I supposed it wouldn’t do for me to stay home. Of course, one of the things for this trip is to find a suitable hotel. I will start looking this week.

Euroffice to the Rescue

I am sitting here looking around my office and realize that there a few things I am sorely missing. First of all is a file cabinet. I think it’s one of those you don’t really think you need until you look around and see that there are mountains of paper everywhere. What can’t be shredded has to be put somewhere in some kind of orderly fashion. I’ll put that on my list.

Getting Personal Can be a Good Thing!

Sometimes I think that we are so inundated with media and sites that want to know everything about everyone that people forget that getting personal isn’t always appropriate. I am always amazed at the things people will ask me. Even complete strangers have no qualms about asking age, weight, salary, or how much I paid for my car. I always find that shocking. I was taught to never ask about money because it’s rude and everyone knows it is taboo to ask a woman about her age (I have no problem telling) or weight (wild horses couldn’t drag it out of me even if I knew the truth).

Red5 Retail is the Place for Fun!

In case you haven’t noticed, I am pretty easily amused. I think it is important to take joy in the small things and try to ignore the things that often get much more attention than they deserve (like the noisy neighbour in the next flat or the smelly guy on the Tube). Today was one of those days that needed a shot of amusement and joy and I knew just the place to find it. I surfed on over to Red5 Retail to see what kind of gadgets and toys are being featured. My plan worked!

Pet Supermarket is the Place!

Would you ever go to a garage to get your hair cut and styled or to a pub to buy milk? Of course not, that would just be silly. I have to wonder then why people go to department stores to buy pet supplies. I know it’s not quite the same thing but in general department stores offer so little and such a limited variety of pet care items that it almost seems as silly to me

Need Shoes for the Office?

Posted in Shopping on Friday, June 18th, 2010 at 10:26 by Sarah Evans.

Office shoes are one of the things that my boss and I used to argue about. While I love shoes, I don’t necessarily like to wear them all the time. In fact, I’d rather not wear them, particularly if the weather is hot. In truth, I am a bare foot kinda girl. I never understood why it made a difference. No one ever saw me walk around without shoes except for him. He used to tell me that he would be happy to buy new shoes for me. I wish I had known about Office Shoes back then. Of course Office Shoes aren’t just for the office but I see no reason to tell him something like that.

Looking for a Fancy Dress?

I imagine that you are aware the World Cup is at the forefront of the news these days. As I was browsing through a select list of sites tonight I came across Angels Fancy Dress, the site that can give you absolutely everything you might need to dress up for the next World Cup party. There is everything you can imagine for St. George’s! And I do mean everything, from face paint to costumes to spectacles and very large red and white wigs. How fun!
