I love charity shops! I went to one today just to see what they had in the store. I rarely buy clothing in the stores simply because I have a difficult time with length, being tall and all. Now, however, I see that there are often separate sections regarding size, age, etc. Today’s search was for chairs. I love the chairs I have at my dining table. They are pretty and classy looking. Unfortunately, should you try and sit on one you might end up on the floor as they aren’t terribly sturdy. I have tried to fix them and then reminded myself that I bought them from a charity shop a couple of years ago when a swank hotel decided to do a remodel. No matter how hard I tried, my repairs were pathetic at best.
So I went into the charity shop today to get new chairs. Nothing fancy, just something functional until I decide to buy a new dining set, which won’t be for a while yet. I strolled into the shop and immediately found exactly what I was looking for, at a lower cost than I expected to pay! You can imagine how happy that made me. As it stands, the chairs are now in my kitchen waiting to be properly cleaned.
I think the best thing about the shop is that it truly is a charity shop and the cause is a very good one, much like the Oxfam Shop. If you haven’t been to one – on or offline – in a while, you should see what you’ve been missing!
