Today I checked out the list of new movie releases to see if there was something I’d want to see this weekend. There are a few that caught my eye – the good, the bad, and the downright puzzling. There are also some upcoming films that look interesting and fun.
First, the movies I would want to see.
‘Public Enemies’ looks pretty good. There’s something I like about gangster movies and I think that Johnny Depp will make a good John Dilinger. I’m also curious to see how Christian Bale handles his role as the cop who is ordered to bring Dillinger in “dead or dead”.
‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ is a must, of course. I’ve read all the books and the movies must follow.
The Proposal looks quite good and I’m curious to see how ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ translates to film. The book was excellent.
Although I’ve not yet seen the first two, ‘Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ looks pretty fun….as do ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’ and ‘Land of the Lost’. I’m curious to see if the latter has any resemblance to the silly TV series of yesteryear.
I have yet to see ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
The movie that is getting a lot of hype is the new Sacha Baron Cohen flick, ‘Bruno’. I simply don’t get it. Unless I get hit very hard on the head, I can’t see me paying money to go to the theatre for this one.
