This past weekend a large group of my friends went camping in the countryside. I know it is cold this time of year but it is a tradition. This year I could not go which gave me mixed feelings. I miss my mates but it was really cold out there! I must say that we rent small rustic cottages when we go camping, which many people believe is not camping at all, rather it is much like staying in a hotel. I disagree. I will confess that we have a digital music system, electricity, and a refrigerator. But only one of the cabins has running water. We still spend a lot of time outdoors gathered around a fire and we do not have or watch telly. Suddenly, it sounds less and less like camping than it does when I am there.
One of my non-camping friends said that it wasn’t camping unless we used tents. I haven’t used a tent since I was a young girl and have no intention of reverting to it now! If people want to view our trips as standard holidays, that’s fine. It makes me want to look for a hotel in that area.
If you are planning a holiday of any sort, you should really check into our selection of hotels. One site I would particularly recommend is Hotels.com. The international service will put you up near just about anyplace you’d want to be. Better still, the site is offering 10% off on specific deals. Check it out!
