When Weddings Go Awry

Wedding Cake TopYesterday I wrote about some of the trends in the wedding industry from gifts for the groomsmen, bridesmaids, other members in the bridal party and parents to favours for the wedding reception. The face of event planning is changing with digital printing to customise various items to the happy couple’s desire to outshine every other wedding they have ever attended. This trend brings about some interesting mishaps as well, ones that are generally unforeseen until it is too late, such as the weather.

Companies such as TPS Weddingplan Wedding Insurance and Debenhams Wedding Insurance offer peace of mind through their affordable insurance plans. The plans are quite affordable and cover a long list of things including postponement. Other common areas covered by typical wedding insurance plans can include cancellation of musicians, the venue going out of business, car trouble, failure of the event’s suppliers, overseas weddings and so forth.

I can see more and more people insuring their wedding. In the recent past, weddings have become increasingly expensive. One of these plans will cover £9000 for cancellation and up to £2,000,000 for personal liability. It also makes sense when one thinks about how far in advance one must plan a wedding – usually 12-18 months in advance. A lot of things can go wrong in that period of time. These plans can also be used to cover other events, such as charity auctions, corporate gatherings, or even family reunions. As I always say, better safe than sorry!
