CPRE stands for the Campaign to Protect Rural England and the CPRE is an organisation which passionately campaigns to provide positive and practical solutions to environmental, economic and social issues which the English countryside faces daily. The organisation spends time researching, assessing and highlighting threats which the countryside could be effected by and proposes its ways of fixing, rejuvenating and controlling damage to the green spaces in England; keeping them from being forced in to decline, damaged or otherwise negatively affected. In order to achieve this the CPRE provide businesses, the government and other authorities with reasoned and researched arguments, engaging in principled debate and promoting the inherent positive values of the English countryside so that more people understand its importance in our lives. The organisation also puts forward sober and practical proposals for improving negative situations and settling disputes, as well as welcoming the support and enthusiasm of like-minded people. The CPRE has been campaigning to protect and invigorate the English countryside for over 80 years and by looking at issues such as farming and food, landscape and planning and development (of new builds and roads) the organisation has helped to improve, restore and keep safe National parks, green belts, areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONBs) and other rural and semi-rural spaces. Working hand-in-hand with the Government and other more independent parties the CPRE is constantly seeking new partnerships to share the campaign's objectives and stand united against those who threaten to ruin our countryside and green spaces.
