Stretching a Limited Holiday Budget

Even though you may not have as much money for a holiday as in years past, there is no reason that you can’t still enjoy yourself.  By employing a few basic methods, you can stretch your holiday funds a little further and have a wonderful time.  Here are some ideas to consider.

One excellent suggestion is to look into the idea of obtaining a prepaid credit card just for use on the holiday.   This helps you to stay within budget and can also allow you to get a card that is ideal for international travel if you go abroad.  You may also spend less in service fees at automatic tellers with a prepaid card as well.

Don’t wait until you arrive at your destination to convert your currency.  By managing the process ahead of time, you are likely to command a better exchange rate as well as minimise processing fees that are sometimes excessive at points of entry into a country.  There are online services such as Travelex that can manage the conversion and allow your holiday funds to go a lot further.

If an international holiday is out of the question, try something closer to home.  A holiday in a quaint village can be restful as well as a chance of pace.  In addition, the cost is likely to fit into even a tight budget, allowing you to possibly return home with a small amount to add to your savings or to buy something extra for the household.   Best of all, your holiday funds go to help stimulate the economy in a local area, a particularly nice turn of events these days.
